| The U. S. Coast Guard
Auxiliary, Flotilla 1-2 Cangrejos offers Public Education Courses in Puerto Rico which
will teach you the answers to these situations plus many other commons but important
concern of All boaters. The Auxiliary Public Educations have a variety of courses
for any recreational boater. |

Mandatory Boater Education Classes for Puerto Rican Residents born on or after
June 1, 1972 starts JANUARY 1, 2001! |

Safety Checks |

| The U. S. Coast Guard
Auxiliary offers Vessel Safety Checks to boaters wishing to be sure that their boats meet
all Federal and State safety requirements. Also a safety check for personal watercraft is
also available. The Vessel Examiners
who perform the VSC's are specially-trained Auxiliarists who are kept informed on the
latest legal requirements for boaters. |

| To join the U.S. Coast Guard
Auxiliary you must be 17 years of age or older. Ownership of a facility (a boat, or a
marine radio) is desirable but not mandatory. There are other requirements but they are
not extraordinary. If you are
interested in joining the Auxiliary this is the opportunity. |
